Special Needs

Care Team

SMMA is proud to have a CARE TEAM consisting of the school principal, learning consultants, school counselor and various faculty members in place in order to respond to identified academic and behavioral concerns of its students.

Special Needs

Two learning consultants serve the teachers and students of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque School. One learning consultant works with families in grades PK to 4 and one learning consultant works with families in grades 5 through 8. The Learning Consultants role is to obtain appropriate and pertinent information regarding students’ specific special needs. Learning Consultants communicate pertinent information about students’ needs to teachers and other school personnel in an appropriate manner. They meet with teachers of specific students individually and in small groups to explain the student’s profile and communicate the adjustments necessary to meet the student’s needs. They also act as a resource for teachers and families. SMMA teachers are dedicated to providing differentiated instruction for students iso that all students can achieve their greatest academic potential.
